Northern Vietnam Highlights – Ha Giang Loop & Ha Long Bay (6 Days / 5 Nights)

To reach Ha Giang from Hanoi, it takes about 6–7 hours, so you should arrive one day before the tour starts. We offer pickup services from Hanoi, Ha Long, Cat Ba, Ninh Binh, and Sapa. A free dorm stay in Ha Giang is included for the night before the tour begins.

Join us for a lovely breakfast at Bong Ha Giang Hostel starting from 8:00 AM. 10:00 AM: Start the Ha Giang Loop motorbike tour. Visit Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate and the Twin Mountains for beautiful panoramic photos. Continue to Tam Son Town (Quan Ba) for lunch, where you can try local dishes and take a break. 5:00 PM: Arrive in Yen Minh Town and check in at a homestay. Enjoy a family dinner with the host. Free time for karaoke, card games, and happy water.

08:00 AM: Depart from Yen Minh and drive along the northernmost region of Vietnam. Enjoy panoramic views overlooking the Vietnam–China border, and visit Hmong and Lo Lo ethnic minority villages along the way. 01:00 PM: Lunch in Dong Van. In the afternoon, ride through the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most spectacular mountain roads in Vietnam, with incredible views of the Nho Que River valley.

Today you will have the option to choose between different activities. You can take a boat trip along the magnificent Nho Que River or enjoy an adventurous bamboo rafting experience, with the chance to swim near a waterfall. After the activity, continue riding toward Du Gia Village. Highlights: Nho Que River boat tour, M Pass, Du Gia Village. Arrive in Du Gia Village, check in at the homestay, and relax before dinner. 07:00 PM: Enjoy a family dinner with your host.

08:00 AM: After breakfast, we begin the journey back to Ha Giang City. Visit Du Gia Waterfall, where you can swim and relax before continuing the ride back. On the way, stop at Lung Tam Village, famous for its traditional weaving and colorful Hmong textiles. 05:00 PM: Arrive back in Ha Giang City and end your trip with the Bong team. Continue your journey to Hanoi by overnight bus at 7:30 PM.

2:00am arrive in Hanoi old quarter, stay at Bong Hanoi hostel in dorm. 08:10 – 08:30: Tour guide will pick you up at Bong Hostel in the Hanoi Old Quarter (No. 2 Thanh Ha Street). Transfer to Ha Long Bay, with a short 20-minute break along the way to relax. 12:00: Arrive at Tuan Chau Harbor. 12:30: Welcome on board. Enjoy a welcome drink and receive a brief introduction about the cruise and safety guidelines. Check in to your cabin. 13:00: Enjoy lunch with traditional Vietnamese dishes while cruising through the magnificent Ha Long Bay, admiring the fascinating limestone formations. 14:30: Visit Sung Sot Cave (Surprising Cave). 15:30: Continue to Titop Island, famous for its viewpoint offering spectacular panoramic views of Ha Long Bay. You can also relax or swim at the beach. 17:00: Return to the cruise. Take a shower and relax on the sundeck, watching the sunset while enjoying a cocktail or reading a book. 18:00: Join the Sunset Party and Cooking Class. Learn how to make Vietnamese fresh spring rolls and enjoy the ones you prepare. 19:00: Dinner is served in the restaurant in the romantic setting of Ha Long Bay. After dinner, you can join evening activities such as squid fishing, karaoke, drinks at the bar, or simply relax on the sundeck. Overnight on board. Shared cabin available based on twin or triple occupancy.

06:00: Wake up early and enjoy the fresh morning air while watching the sunrise over Ha Long Bay. 07:00: Breakfast on board. 08:00: The boat cruises to Luon Cave, located on Bo Hon Island, about 14 km south of Bai Chay Tourist Wharf and 1 km from Surprise Cave (Sung Sot Cave). Luon Cave has an arc shape, about 60 meters long and 2.5–4 meters high depending on the tide. Due to its limited height, the only way to visit the cave is by small boat or kayak. 10:00: Check out of your cabin and continue cruising through the bay. 11:00: Enjoy lunch while the cruise returns to Tuan Chau Harbor. 12:00: Arrive at the harbor and say goodbye to the friendly crew. Board the bus back to Hanoi or continue your journey to Ninh Binh. 16:00: Arrive at Bong Hostel in Hanoi Old Quarter. End of trip.
